Changing from 105 to Deore rear mech

I've recently replaced my 105 rear mech with a Deore one. When I try to set it up I don't seem to be able to get sufficient travel to get all my gears. Are Deore and 105 compatible or does the Deore mech need a lot more cable to be pulled through for each gear.
I've set low and high stops and my shifters (Dura Ace) give me all ten clicks as I change, it's just the mech won't give me 10 gears. The new mech is supposed to be a 10 speed mech.
Any ideas please.

For 10 speed the road and MTB stuff isn't compatable.

I'm not exactly sure what you want to do, but if you want an MTB mech that will work with road 10 speed shifters, any shimano 7, 8 or 9 speed MTB mech will be compatable.

If you're wanting bigger rear gears, hunt for a GS 105 rear mech, or add a hanger extender to the original. As above, what are your wants/needs with the modification?

If the rear derailer says "Dynasys", it isn't compatible with road equipment.
