As long as you're happy setting up and indexing gears, then yes, 'tis easy. You'll also need to replace the grips as the old ones will be too short

Its a doddle, 1 tip: When fitting new grips the best thing to slide em on and stick them is Hairspray. Just give the bar and the inside of the grip a quick squirt, slide the grip on (make sure the brake lever is well out of the way you can position that after you've got the grip on) and get the positioning right, then less than 10 minutes later it will be solid.
To remove grips slide a thin screwdriver (or barbeque skewer) under the grip then insert the red plastic pipe of a WD40 can alongside that and give it a liberal squirting so the WD40 gets right under the grip, remove the tube and the screwdriver and then twist the grip back and forth til it comes loose. To reuse the grip just wash the inside with Fairy Liquid and warm water, rinse it clean and allow to dry...................... its as good as new.

its a hibred with straight handle bars, 21 gears in total x
