I heavily rely on a reliable and fast connection for my work.
About 5 years ago I moved from Plusnet to Zen (The First direct of internet).
Zen are not the cheapest, but they are fast, and in my experience it's a reliable service, and their customer service is excellent.
They also provide you with a really good £200 worth of Fritzbox router.
I also managed to get them to upgrade the house to a full fibre (ONT?) connection, at zero cost, a couple of years in.
Up until a few weeks ago, the only issue I had had was a couple of hours of a dropping connection, but once reported, it was sorted.
Saturday morning a few weeks back we woke up to no internet - called them, and went through a raft of tests, established it seemed as if the router was the issue.
Luckily I had a very old 25m ethernet cable, so was able to create a 'dial up' connection, and keep working.
The new router came out on Tuesday, plumbed it in, and all back up and running, old one sent back in a prepaid envelope thing.
It's £42 a month (Price will not increase), but serves us very well, both for my work, and all the streaming activities that go on in the household.
