Changing saddles at the last minute???

Fit the comfy saddle but fit it yourself and take the right size of hex key with you so that you're confident you know how to adjust the angle and reach mid-ride.

You're in California? Dang it.... ptew *ding* It's still hot there so don't wear squidgy shorts that make your saddle area sweaty and try to stay cool on the bike to avoid sweating and chafing.
 
My saddle is VERY uncomfortable
Agree with what's written above, but further, if the known saddle is very uncomfortable, I'd risk a brand new saddle on the off-chance, even untried. It's unlikely to be worse.

Just FYI, I had a well broken in Brooks on my folder which is very upright, and put it on my road bike. I rode 57km the day I changed it, and did a 200km ride a few days later, without a problem.

OK, one problem - I didn't tighten the bolt enough, and 150km into the ride, the nose of the saddle shot up in the air. Ouch! So tighten all the bolts.
