Does anyone else have trouble with the Channel 4 website when using Ubuntu? As soon as I load it up, the programmes and listings links disappear and I get a big play symbol on screen. Clicking on the play symbol doesn't help. I don't get the same problems with other flavours of linux on my PC, just on my laptop. I thought it might be the web browser, but I've just installed two others and I get the same problem.

Hmm... can't try at the mo, but will investigate when I get near one of my machines that has Ubuntu 10.04 on it. (You are on 10.04 not 10.10?). Have you run updates on Ubuntu recently?

Yes, I am on 10.04, Lucid Lynx. I updated yesterday, but the Channel 4 website has been a problem for a long time.

Just tried it and it's working here. Not sure what to suggest, but...

Maybe the Flash player isn't working well with your laptop's graphics under Ubuntu. Are they Intel onboard by any chance?

Have you tried changing screen resolution on the laptop? Outside chance, but worth a go.

No problem here; Firefox, Chrome nor Opera. On Lucid 10.04.

My gut feel is that beanz is on the right track ^^^ and it's a Flash related thing. Have you got the 'Ubuntu Restricted Extras' installed?

Also, might be worth trying the FlashVideoReplacer for Firefox if it is a processor limitation on your laptop.

Cheers chaps, it was an Adobe Flash Player problem.

I think I copied and pasted "sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree" in terminal application and it all came good.
