Mine took about a month to wear in and after that, it was brilliant for nine months but I've sold it last week because I found that it just didn't suit me any more.

I tried 4 saddles and found them all uncomfortable, until I tried the Spoon. Everyone's different though, there's no miracle formula unfortunately, just a case of trial and error.

I had the Knife on the commuter for 3 years. Great saddle, less padding then the spoon, but the thing cracked in two twice

Now back on Selle Italia

Got any recommendations for a Selle Italia saddle? I'm thinking about the C2 one.

The c2 is a good one, got the cheaper model XR trans am on the computer and a SLR carbon on the best bike. Nice and flat, minimal but firm padding.

Looking at getting rid of a cheaper Selle on the MTB for the XR and putting a C2 on the commuter. Remember, not too much padding....

How do you find the XR Trans Am? I'm looking for something flat, the saddles that were in my LBS were more of a racing style and too narrow for my liking.

Charge Spoon on my fixed, very comfortable, suits me. Charge spoons seem to suite some people but not others, like with a Brooks either you've got a Charge Spoon shaped arse or you haven't.

i went to the spoon after a hybrid saddle. for the first week i was wondering what everyone was raving about.
now its like one of those comfortable old chairs that you never want to throw away, either its molded to your arse or your arse has molded to it

It wasn’t too much of a financial risk to speculate £15 on a Spoon, but buying a Brooks is a major investment for me. Even after several hundred miles, I still find the Spoon to be an instrument of torture. If it was valid to infer that not liking the Spoon means the odds are that I would get on with a Brooks, it would make taking the plunge that bit easier!

Well, having thought about it for quite a while I've decided to take a risk and try a Brooks B17. First impressions are that despite being a very much firmer material than the Charge, it feels softer to sit on.

A couple of short test rides show that it's going to need fine tuning to get it right for me, but I'm looking forward to trying a proper ride.

So far so good.
