No it isn't. I'd be doing exactly what I object to and becoming a hypocrite.

Its not the charities I object to. Its the method of giving.

Whenever I think about charity, I think about Steven Fry banging on about putting a plaster on a wound.

I also feel weird about donating to a specific charity, because I immediately feel stymied because I should give it to a different one.

I'd prefer a charity lucky dip charity, where you don't know what you've given to until you've got a thank-you letter back from the eventual recipient
