I buy almost all my clothes - and many other things besides - at charity shops. Some of the prices are getting a bit daft, but there are plenty of bargains still to be had.

Get really great hardbacks for a couple of pounds then give them back after reading, or give them as presents.

I am a Charity Shopper ! Me and
Ms boz get some real bargains ,
Today I got a top quality hikers extra large back pack to use on our tour of the north coast and castles , £10 , got a hi viz poncho , totally waterproof last week , £2 ,
Waterproof leggings , jackets the lot , I've spotted some front and rear panniers in one place ,if I get them for a score I'll be happy ,
Ms 'boz buys loads of books ,there is one Cancer Research shop in Chiswick that does seem a bit pricey , but on some days it's half price everything, if your there you've got a lot of good stuff , cheap !

I picked up 2 nice Ben Sherman shirts from a charity shop... £4 each. I often pop in and have a gander... have got some really decent jeans, various T-shirts and a jumper this year so far. The kids think I'm mad... until... one of their 'coolest' friends started getting nice retro clothes from a charity shop... now they're interested in charity shop chic. Most of my clothes during my time as a student in the 1980s came from such shops... and I didn't look too much of a div.
Do YOU charity shop?
Sometimes I look, but the revolting smell of stale clothes puts me off, and they have got greedy, the prices are an absolute joke - sometimes more than when the tat was new, no thanks...........................

I buy lots of stuff from charity shops for my arts and crafts. Plenty of fabric and haberdashery items get donated in my area and then there are the books and odds and sods like picture frames etc.

I visit them all at least once a week they are little goldmines.

Yes I charity shop and donate too. I try to get my work shirts from charity shops in the nicer end of town as they're invariably good quality and tailor made for the same price as a new one from Tesco.

It's big business these days - with a lot of Charity shops most of the donated stuff goes to a central hub for valuation and cleaning and is then put up for sale on their eBay shop or sent to auction and the tat that won't sell there is sent to the shops.

I'm always bagging stuff up for charity... I don't spend a lot on clothes and am a lazy shopper so seldom try before i buy... if it doesn't quite fit or i don't like the cut, it's straight in the charity bag rather than taking it back to the shop.

I'll buy DVDs and the odd Playstation game from charity shops.... occasionally they won't play but rather than return for a £1 refund, or putting it in the bin, they go in the charity bag where some other sucker can pay a pound for the privilege of discovering it doesn't work (I know this is wrong, but it's another pound for charity).

I used to buy a lot of vinyl from charity shops but these days they're all clued up... some of the prices in my local Oxfam are truly shocking.

I do need to get rid of about 300 LPs which I'll be sending to charity, but not Oxfam... i favour the local hospice.

Come to sunny Orpington. The High Street is charity shop central. There are at least 12 shops, including 2 Cancer Research within 100 yards of each other.
