I'm not a football nut, not like many people round here, and I hadn't even heard of Charlie Adam, but after seeing his stamp on Giroud on MoTD

http://balls.ie/football/gif-charlie-adam-stamp-on-olivier-giroud/

I googled 'Charlie Adam is a thug'

It's amazing how many hits that search returns. What a scumbag.

Have to agree, think he did Gareth bale twice:sad:

I played with his old man. He was a "hard man" but not a thug.

He was a "veteran" and I was a youngster so he commanded some respect, but I had my odd fall-out with him which sometimes came to blows as he was not one for backing down! I dinnae think he was the one who knocked my front teeth out but it'll have been someone in the same mould.

His son seems a bit of a dick.

I've watched the video of Adam's "stamp" and it doesn't appear to be that bad. Worst things have happened in the past and gone unnoticed, but with cameras all over the place every move is up for public scrutiny.

Respected as he was at the time, the entire Kop turned against him as one with a brutal stamp, similar to that one on the Icelandic player above, on Norwich's 'danger man' on the day. In a game Liverpool had to win, Suness (which he will forever be known as) identified Martin O'Neil as their most potent threat so went out and cynically neutralised him. The referee was too intimidated to do the right thing but that thug lost all respect that day and put a well-respected professional footballer out of action for months and put at risk the poor man's career and means of earning.

I'm with you on this one. He's not looking and doesn't exert any more downward pressure than he would be if just continuing his stride.

The endless scrutiny of non-events such as this is ruining football.

As for Pardew... What a walloper. At least NUFC have taken action before the FA got involved. A rare moment of foresight from a normally brainless club.
