I'm always going to be biased, but K**ne's assault on Haaland is one of the many reasons he's my footballing panto villain. From memory, this was payback for some afters by Haaland while he was at Leeds, but I'm happy to be corrected. Never let it be said that K**ne holds a grudge.

Warning - not safe for petals!

I've watched the video of Adam's "stamp" and it doesn't appear to be that bad. Worst things have happened in the past and gone unnoticed, but with cameras all over the place every move is up for public scrutiny.
I never said it was anything like 'the worst' - we've all seen worse. The Souness would be an example. That's positively psychopathic. Just that it was a piece of blatant thuggery, for which he appears to have form.
I was in Scotland when he was Rangers manager, .
Me too and his teams always contained a few thugs. Terry Hurlock springs to mind, a horrible player.

Professional football is a joke! "Grown sportsmen" rolling around like they've just been shot by a sniper and so called thugs dishing out alleged damage. Before all the money entered the game these "characters" and their traits would have been "sorted" by those on the field and in the dressing room.
There were two very similar headbutts, Pardews and one in the Spurs game, and two very different responses from the recipients. Only the Hull player emerges with any decorum.
Does less sportsmanlike behaviour exist anywhere else?

Point of note Duncan Ferguson ended up in jail for a headbutt and Rangers players a criminal record for an onfield melee. Why no police charges now?

Just imagine cameras in the older times..
Chopper Harris, Big Norm Hunter and countless others..
Todays 'hard-men' are soft as sh***...
I mean look at yon Spurs player the other night who got breathed on and done a 'dying swan act'..

I'm not a football nut, not like many people round here, and I hadn't even heard of Charlie Adam, but after seeing his stamp on Giroud on MoTD

http://balls.ie/football/gif-charlie-adam-stamp-on-olivier-giroud/

I googled 'Charlie Adam is a thug'

It's amazing how many hits that search returns. What a scumbag.

Interesting, I have always thought he was a thug, however, I never bothered to find out if other people had similar views. I thought I might be too critical, it looks like I'm not.

To be fair to Charlie hes a amateur !

That is a shocking tackle...... Souness lives down the road from me and I've spoken to him a couple of times, to say hi. You coud never imagine he was capable of assulting a fellow player like shown in the video, he seems very friendly whenever I see him walking his dog.

Yes but just don't go saying anything to antagonise him if he doesn't pick up his dog's doo daahs!:B)

I'm not sure I want police involved in on pitch incidents and I think the Duncan Ferguson one set a dangerous precedent. It should be dealt with accordingly by the clubs and the governing bodies otherwise where does it end? Assault covers everything from brutally attacking someone to shoving them so things like a harsh tackle would certainly fall within its remit. And that's just soccer which is played by fairies, if rugby followed the same route which it would have to eventually, there'd be more police at a match than spectators.
Another appalling incident when that Leicester city player headbutted Shearer in the foot.

View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_7WGYa9nQ
I love that clip. Neil Lennon is a Grade A fandan and is lucky that Shearer wasn't seriously injured after his assault.

Back to Charlie Adam - I've just Googled 'is a thug' as well and the 'shared opinions' on the first page seem to mostly come from football forums. Not the most balanced pool of information.

He's not all bad in any case, he's backed and promoted this charity cycling event www.300miles3days.co.uk, the terrible scumbag!

Nobby Stiles was once asked ho he imposed himself on opponents. He said (allegedly): "I hit them hard twice early on in the game - once on the way up, and once on the way down" It was a tough old game in the 60's

I grew up watching football in the 60s, in the glory days of Nobby Styles and Maurice Setters, when quality players were kicked mercilessly by lumbering lumps of centre halves. Modern professional football is much faster, much more skilful and far better to watch.
