Charlie Kirk shot and killed

Charlie Kirk was a political activist from the USA. He was a smart guy who travelled the world talking to audiences on a whole range of political and social matters. He liked to tour university campus in the USA and have quastion and answer sessions with the students.

In all the clips I have seen of him, he was always calm, polite, knowledgeable and put his point across well.

Yesterday, while giving one of these talks at a Utah University in front of a large outdoor crowd. He was assasinated by a single shot to the neck. There is a manhunt taking place for the shooter.

I must admit, I find this shocking. Its like going back to the Kennedy assasinations. After all these years, you would think we would be able to accept that we are allowed to have different opinions to other people.

He leaves a wife and two children.

Case of not agreeing with his politics but his right to say it without violenece - and especially lethal violence - cannot be justified because of it

I did not compare him to the Kennedys. I said "It is like going back to the Kennedy assasinations". It is the sort of action we do not often see these days.

I'd never heard of him before the headline broke about him being shot.

There was a shooting in Colorado yesterday too, not that I could see it at all last night on the BBC.
