I don't watch a lot of live telly, I tend to "series record" stuff and watch it, Marathon style.

As I have an interest in architecture, I tend to record all manner of crap related to buildings, houses, space...you get the picture.

My most recent addition to the yellow button, is "Charlie Luxtons Homes by the sea". Which after my forth episode, I have now deleted from series record.

Why?

As a kid I was taught not to use the word Nice. Nice doesn't describe anything, its lazy, its irrelevant and its unimaginative. You would expect a public speaking, privately successful architect with a blossoming media career and an education in design and presentation to understand the vacuous nature of the word.

But not our Charlie. Without exception Charlie chooses to describe his featured homes by the sea by defaulting to the word "Nice". "Oh isn't this Nice", "What nice Home", "How nice of you to continue to have holidays"....

I promised myself that the next time he used the bloody word, I would switch off and delete the series.

He lasted 14 minutes in episode 4.

carry on.

I quite agree though I tend to mute it and fast forward to the tour round the houses. I love nosing at people's houses.

I can't say I've noticed the over use of the word nice.
I've never thought it was a bad word to use though. It's nice to be nice.
I do like homes by the sea though.

I'm with you @jonny jeez, I've never watched his show but that would infuriate me.

George Clarke is the one presenter of these sorts of shows I cannot stand. He did one about sheds which I thought would be really interesting but consisted of him poking about and stating the obvious.

My kids think I look like george. Some of his stuff was interesting but his insistence that every result is amazing and the best designs he's ever seen wears thin. Especially when he is describing a caravan.

I don't doubt its a great design...but the best?

I do have a soft spot for Kevin McCloud who seems at least to find something original and honest to say. (I don't like his predictable use of jeopardy in almost every episode though)
