I absolutely love this song ... one of the most unexpectedly pleasant evenings of my life was in Northampton in 1983 ... I had just taken over a pub barman job from a guy I kind of knew at uni, but really didn't know that well. He came into the pub during about my 2nd week, to say goodbye to the landlord/landlady, and he got on 'the old Joanna' and played a blinding version of this ... so great that all these years later I remember it well!!

Apart from that, I love the song anyway!!

However, I remember Dave (Peacock) more, for his collaboration with Dave Edmunds on his 'DE 7' LP, & in particular playing the 5-string Banjo on this track

Brilliant ad ... not so sure about the beer though

I discovered the other day, thanks to an info board outside tate modern that courage sponsored roundabout the time of that ad that courage is "the official beer of london".
All these years I have clearly been a traitor to the city.

Very sad indeed. I remember working in a recording studio in Portland Place years ago, when C & D came in. We had to dismantle our scaffold so Chas could wheel his piano in, when they went past I said gertcha!
