Cheap Chinese shifters. How bad can they be?

In a lot of Asian markets the entry level bikes all come with Ltwoo shifters and derailleurs rather than the Shimano Tourney of the past. Not sure if they do revo shifters though. Whenever I went in Toys R Us and looked at their bikes years ago mainly the store at Cribbs Causeway they always seemed to have components I'd never heard of.

I hate using revo shifters but when you look at how they function it is pure simplicity and I can see in engineering terms why they are good. Also they work quite well for front derailleur trimming to stop the chain knocking the front derailleur in use.

If they are cheap Chinese from Wish or AliExpress it is worth a punt. But it will be no suprise at all if they fail in the first month and you have to go through the whole process again.

On the other hand. Jannie and I bought 2 Chinese, burn your eyes out, bike lights about 5 years ago. They are still blinding motorists every winter. So you never know.
