Is your phone contract up for renewal? Carphone Warehouse did me a free Galaxy phone, free 7" tablet and a £5 a month reduction on my contract when I went in.

that way you can look and listen and not worry about taking notes when you should be looking and listening at whatever it is you're attending. Then take your notes from the recording after the event.

Used a Dictaphone for years when I was out walking and carry one when I am on tour but I think it would be impractical when listening to a lecture.

Just bought out my contract on a Galaxy smart phone and sold the phone (it was smarter than me).
Thanks for the answers, I think I will look round our local "cash converter" but will probably finish up using pen and paper and then a late night session typing up with "word"

thought I'd mention it as i know people who use a digital recorder for that very reason... i think its as well as taking notes as opposed to instead of.

I can type more quickly and legibly than I can write. I always use pen and paper for taking notes.
