Seems new car prices are coming down, just wondering if anyone can recommend the best place (online maybe?) to get a good deal on a new car.
Thanks,
Shaun.

Best approach at the moment is to get to your local dealer towards the end of the month and negotiate hard, particularly if you don't need to part exchange.

Someone at work was off to look at a Crysler of some description, around the 20k mark with a 4l petrol engine :bravo: & had a BOGOF offer, making it around £10k each
Not sure if that was a local deal or something online. if you want 2 gas guzzlers cheap i'll find out more info for you

Was in a Toyota dealer today and was offered a new Avensis (list £18500) for £12500. I am pondering the offer - seems good but will do a little more research before committing.

Try "Honest John" section on Telegraph motoring section on line. He is very up front with advice and does not seem to be in anyones pocket.

I think if you are not affected by economy then it is a good time to buy anything (and we need more like you!).

I think you are asking this question in the wrong place.

There seem to be more than enough cars out there already.
We're not all lentil crunching tree huggers just because we ride bikes. The bloke wants advice on buying a car (which most of us drive) why shouldn't he ask in cakestop?

perhaps he has asked elsewhere but is going a braod base of opinion.

Pop in for virtual tea and scones, and chat about anything you like. Newbies - the cafe is a great place to say "Hello" :-)
cafe sems as good a place as any. i too am quite interested as my car is dieing so i read with interest, if you arent interested why come in and comment, go crawl around somewehere else. so the discussion about music should be on music forum. well i for one have opinions about many things other than cycling, perhaps you dont

Me too, my Dominator is getting on a bit:smile: M/bike prices are still holding up well compared to cars though.

BTW I used Honest Johns site last week before buying a Mondeo 2004, 2.0 Zetec estate, FSH, one owner, 65k miles for £1650:biggrin: I wish I could afford to buy a new car right now.

Why would you want a new car when you can get such a good one for so little. I never buy new myself. You have a car that is one quarter used up for about one tenth of the new price. sounds great!

I think second hand prices are falling through the floor. A friend just bought a reasonable Volvo for £200. I guess with new prices they have to reflect the hit a buyer is prepared to take on it in the first few years so if the second hand price drops then the new price must drop too or the hit becomes too much.
I would go for a MINI new as they seem to be holding up well against everything else as the second hand market is still good for them.
