Anyone recommend a piece of music they particularly like. If you appreciate great blues/rock then one of my favorites at the moment is Joe Bonamassa live at the Albert Hall 2009.

The 'Brothers of a Feather' DVD/CD by Chris and Rich Robinson of 'The Black Crowes' is one of my favourites at the moment.

Good shout. They've been featuring his new album a lot on Radio Caroline recently - I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of him but he's some talent.

I'd add another featured band - Christine and the Queens, from France to the list - this is my favourite track, the sublime '5 dollars from last year's album

And a bit more upbeat- Stockport band Blossoms. This terrific track from last year

Never got Joe Bonamassa. I've tried. Really hard. But... nope. With one exception: Mountain Time. Love that song and the guitar playing is exceptional.

Anyway, spookily enough, considering Raleighnut's post (Lowell George - one of my top musical inspirations wrote Roll 'Um Easy which Raleighnut posted a version of), I've been having a Little Feat moment or two. Partly because they were the best band ever(*) back in the Lowell George era, and partly because just this week the reaper has been circling them again and this time he took Paul Barrere.

Anyway, I don't think there's a better video on You Tube than this:

(*) Clearly there can be no arguement about this ;-)

Yep they do say at the beginning that it's a Lowell George song, did you know that 3 of the founders were in 'The Mothers Of Invention' before they formed Little Feat.

Mind you a lot of people have been in Frank's band over the years including the 2 singers from 'The Turtles' although that was after they'd left that band that they joined Frank.

Yes, I listened to it. Cool version. Yep, I'm a Little Feat and a Lowell George nut. I believe Lowell George originally offered Willin' to Zappa. Those were good times for music. Saw the Feats twice and Zappa once. Zappa never took a break - it was one continuous stream of superb music.

Can't stop listening to the beautiful songs of First Aid Kit - worth a try if you've not heard them before...
