Had a good ride in this morning.
Firstly I followed another cyclist for a bit this morning - don't often meet other cyclists on my commute - wasn't following close enough for a draft but was pleasent to have some company for a bit.
We met at the top of a short-ish descent (signed as 14%) that then turns into a straight 60mph two lane country road. So we were bombing along at a fair lick.
He passed a group of kids at a bus stop, giving them a wide berth. As I passed a couple of seconds later, one of the kids lept upto the kerb and shouted "Go on my son!" with accompanying arm gestures, followed by "You can catch him" (I think as I was getting out of earshot at this point). Made me smile
. Especially as when I saw the movement I was expecting grief and/or projectiles.
