Plan a circular route of not less than 10km that includes as many chevrons as possible. They only count when travelling upwards. No piece of road can be ridden more than once (dog's leg junctions of up to 100m are acceptable). Classify route in terms of chevrons per kilometre.

No prizes - but what average speed can you manage to cycle it in?

Routes and results here.

Sad what comes to mind ascending a double chevron sector...

It's an oil company.

I thought it might have been some sort of Army slang. 'Farkin' chevrons riding me chalfonts' that sort of thing.

What's a chevron?
It's those 'keep your distance' marks in the motorway lanes.

Could be fun trying to cycle along those.:giggle:

Just because you live in Macclesfield and have Macc forrest with lots of them ! That said we have two double chevron climbs up Werneth Low, but one of them is more suitable to MTB's. ^_^

The charmingly named Cock Brow? Very surprised to see that is only a single chevron. I'm going to have a go at that this pm, having almost fallen off last time I was going so slowly. Tricking up the loop to include Gorsey Brow in Broadbottom and Monks Road in Charlesworth gives 8 chevrons in 18 miles
