The solitude must have been lovely.

The solitude must have been lovely.

It was.

I really need these moments of calm of serenity. I feel ready now to spend the rest of the day with my family and play with the children.

Merry Xmas 🎅🏻 Looks ace !

Where was this……..?

Thank you. I live in Northern Germany on the edge of the Lüneberg Heide, a mix of forests and heathland which stretch on for hundreds of kilometres. I can normally stitch together rides of between 20 - 100 kilometres and spend less than 10 km riding on roads. The landscape here doesn't have the wow factor of many places, but it is great for gravel riding and provides lots of interesting variety.

And would you Adam and believe it! While I was typing the above I noticed a weird smell in the garage unrelated to sprouts. 5 minutes later the turbo gave out with a wisp of smoke coming from the unit where the electronics live. The side of the unit was too hot to touch.

I’m not even going to go there with the immense power jokes because this really was just a leg turn to keep a run going. I’ll see what Garmin say but it’s a couple of years old and has a good few virtual miles on it so I think the best I’ll do is a discount on a new one.

Nice little 24 miles on Quentin the Viking Tandem. Not my idea to park him in a puddle, by the way. Had rather a lovely ride. Lots of stops for drinking vimto, eating a flapjack and looking for kingfishers (last pic of the bridge over the river is a prime spot). I think that I have earned my mince puff-a-luffs.
