Can anybody recommend a realistic driving game with a free roaming city environment that is child friendly? My 10yr old daughter loves driving games but not racers. What I'm after is a GTA4 without the violence and swearing, but does it exist?
Need for Speed series is fun - we've got Hot Pursuit and you can 'free drive'. Also have Blur which is car racing with or without power ups - loads of fun against friends. (Xbox 360).
We have rally and race games but she likes to bimble about, stopping at traffic lights, sticking to her lane and parking in allocated bays. It,s quite funny, she is a better parallel parker than me.

Test drive unlimited - xbox360. You should be able to get it for buttons. There are challenges if you want them or just drive about admiring the scenery.
NFS Series all have free drive.Should be able to pick up the older ones like Carbon or Underground quite cheap now. Only got the Hot Pursuit for Xbox 360, but have the other earlier NFS on the PC.
