I'd challenge anyones teacher to my year head Mr Kitchen.. A demon with the blackboard wiper. I swear he could control the thing in the air. "Don't move boy". It was only worse for ya if you moved. He would get you sometime.

He had a supply of them.

I think all male teachers of a certain generation went to a 'throwing blackboard wiper school'.

I concur- Harri Roberts could , Geoff Brooks could, Ivor Jones could - all old scholl teachers. Mr lloyd jones young whippersnapper couldn't .
George Jones the PE head of dept could launch a squash ball across the Gym from his ofice and hit you.

Don't forget proper hay bales for making dens from, oh and green fairy carbolic soap that your mum washed your mouth out with when the odd 'bloody' slipped out xx(

Ahhhhhh.............

The three day week, power cuts, brown and orange curtains and wallpaper, massive shirt collars.

None of these ruined 600 a side football in burning sunshine whilst eating a jublee that turned to a block of ice that would have polished off the Titanic. Then going back to the shop and buying mojos and smoking sweet cigarettes pretending we were all cool, and pretending to be drunk on Top Deck shandy !

We all stayed out late, it stayed light every night until turned 10.00pm. We all jumped our choppers and went through the bars more than we can remember, don't mention family jewels hitting the gear changer and carrying your bessie mate on the 6ft long saddle.

In reality looking back as an adult it was shite. Nobody had anything worth nicking, the telly was only on for a few hours a day with a couple of channels which is a disaster when you're a kid. BUT it seems great when you look back because when you're a kid that's how it should be, all fun and great memories.
