feck . I had a pair of check flares very similar to that as a kid in the 70s
 
My brother shared a chopper and had good fun on it until he skidded on loose stones and got hit by a car.
He got away with a broken leg but the chopper was a goner.
 
Sturmey Archer gears that slipped. Brakes that always seemed to rub on one side. Spending all day doing skids on a sandy road, then getting in trouble with my dad for trashing the tyre.
