unless you are a gorilla, or you spend most of your time out of the saddle and sprinting flat out on the drops, then you will not notice flex regardless of whatever bars you use...

Mr knowledge sir may i ask what might be an obvious question to you ? why are Planet x parts so cheap ? and in the world of weight saving which seems to be popular those bars are heavier than my alu ones which i bought for comfort and affordability.

Carbon bars are for posers! Aluminium is the material of choice for even the pros in this regard. If you want comfort, get your position dialled, get some nice bar tape and some nice gloves.

PX sources kit from the far east, same as Ribble, indeed the same as most other brands, tbh. Cheap doesn't have to mean poor quality. I have no knowledge of their bars, so can't really offer an opinion. Lots of people use carbon bars with no issue, but weight savings are pretty marginal, at best...

Another vote for Ritchey WCS here

I've got full WCS finishing kit in alu and wet black on my CAAD

Same here but on my Boardman with those black wheels i had off you it all goes together quite nicely

Tom Boonen swears by "doubling" the tape on his bike. I have done this on my CX bike in order to handle a bit more vibration when off road, or just riding the potholed Scottish roads.
This is a cheap starting point and if it doesn't work for you then you have only lost £10. In fact you will have spare bar tape for when you need to re do the old stuff. ;)

Worth noting my CX has alu bar with only carbon forks. Doubling the tape all but stopped the road numbness entirely. I too had considered carbon bars, gel inserts under the tape and all sorts of different tyre pressures. A combination of around 90psi (28mm tyres) and double bar tape was night and day for me.

Yes, just today - they have been doing one-day offers over the festive period.

edit - would your pay not go into your bank today, rather than a Saturday?
