When replacing my Shimano M355 pads for the first time I made the stupid mistake of trying to push the pistons back with a screwdriver and chipped oneb- a tiny chip about 1mm. The brakes with new pads work fine but is this likely to cause issue e.g. with water or dirt getting in the system? There's channels in the pistons about the same size so I can't see any issues occurring.

Lesson learned - push back on the old pads!!

I would imagIne if they are not letting fluid out they are unlikely to let it in.
