Great to come across this site, better still to find this thread.
This model was my first 'proper' bike, my first ever new bike! From Halfords Stafford.
Birthday present from dad, either 14th or 15th, mad keen on it at that time, the little international cycling mag, the comic of course, the local Stafford road club and the big schoolboy group.
I broke a club schoolboy t.t. Record for 5 miles on this, adapted to run on 49x18 free only.
Something daft like 110 rpm average cadence! Still on original high pressures then.
I outgrew the 21" frame quickly, next purchase was a Henry burton 24"!
The good news is that I still have it, alas was resprayed up in stoke at some point and components changed.
Can't bring myself to dispose of it!
