I think that you may have to be a little more specific than 'the wife'!

I always find a nice ironing board cover goes down well. Does she need a new hoover? Perhaps the mop is looking a bit worn? Or if you are feeling a bit romantic: some nice scratchy nylon, crotchless panties?
