Elmer Fudd

Miserable Old Bar Steward
Roy Wood - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday
Slade - Merry Christmas

My personal favourite :-

Bing Crosby & David Bowie - Little Drummer Boy (Peace On Earth)

And if anyone mentions anything by Shakin' Stevens, I'll send the boys round.
You have been warned !!

I hate the first two songs with a passion. They make me want to gouge my own eardrums out.

For a brilliant Christmas album, buy the one by the Pearl Fish. It'll make you feel happy in side, and not a glam rocker in sight.

re

I have some cd's by a US guitarist called Gary Hoey.

The cd's are called "Ho, Ho, Hoey Vols 1-3"

They contain popular xmas songs given the shred guitar treatment.

They are jolly good!!

anyone fancy sampling some tracks pm me

None. I have heard them all to many times over the years, it's about time the songwriters came up with some new ones.

The Power of Love by Frankie goes to Hollywood and a Spaceman came Travelling are my guilty pleasures.

Roy Wood is ok just the once Xmas afternoon.

You can keep the rest especially that 'Stop the Cavalry crap'

I'm a big fan of Dexys (even Come on Eileen). Here's Dexys take on Noddy's pension....

Edit for the following info: stick with it....Kev changes the lyrics..."...and the evil hand of boredom strikes again"....fantastic stuff!

I love Slade's Merry Christmas - especially the 'It's CHRRRRRIIIIISSSSTMAS' bit!! I also really like 'All i want for christmas is you' but as it's generally done by Mariah Carey I'm desperately ashamed about that. But my favourite one ever is 'I wish it could be Christmas every day' because I honestly do!!

Elmer, I've just realised we have identical taste in dodgy Christmas numbers!!

Absolutely none of them, all tedious rubbish - like christmas itself.

The line that sums it up comes from Everything But The Girl:

"Every day's like Christmas day without you,
It's cold and there's nothing to do"

Oh and Bah Humbug!

I see you're this year's Scrooge Challenge, an annual effort to make one grumpy Bah Huhmbug person fall for the magic of Chrimbo!!

Prepare to be overwhelmed by festive excitement!!
