I know everyone will be thrilled Kacey Musgraves has a new LP out and better still it's a Christmas album, oh goody.
Mele Kalikimaka y'all!
Not a Christmas carol or hymn . It's an advent hymn . ( or maybe a carol) but definitely an advent one. TMN to somebody!
It is my favourite one and heralds the start of advent at Chez subaqua when it is heard on the Beeb on advent Sunday.
Similar for Once in Royal Davids City on Christmas Eve with " Carols from Kings" on BBC2 being the start of Christmas. And hearing John 1: 1 (KJV not the NIV garbage( yes it comes from a big book of fantasy stories)) with a mince pie and a large sherry meaning Christmas has properly arrived .
I hated Christmas as a kid , as it meant a lot of arguments between parents and families and days of silence where nobody would speak to anybody. Really didn't help keeping the fecking Labrador away!! My wife introduced me to some of her families traditions and I started to enjoy Christmas.
Anyway enough rambling on
Top drawer as always 3BM, I'm gonna welcome everyone on 25th wearing a grass skirt and shouting "Mele Kalilimaka"
Here's my guilty Xmas pleasure

....and before folk start complaining about that one, Shakey was my number 2 choice
Fairytale of New York is nothing without Kirsty MacColl - please give her credit for it. Shane MacGowan did:
"Kirsty knew exactly the right measure of viciousness and femininity and romance to put into it and she had a very strong character and it came across in a big way... In operas, if you have a double aria, it's what the woman does that really matters. The man lies, the woman tells the truth."
