I've just ordered 18 bottles from Laithewaites.

Every year I umm and arr about where to get the best deal on wine. I never feel I have, because there’s no real way to tell what wine is worth.

Sometimes I’ve used Majestic, considered Naked wines and today saw some crazy prices at Calais wine. Can’t drive there and back before Christmas though.

Anyhoo, anyone seen a great deal?

I’ve got six “mystery fine reds” coming and a case of the “wines of the year 2017”

Sadly, I won’t be drinking any of them. Gifts.

Now Im eyeing up Tesco Wines...

Were quite lucky down here wines are not so heavily taxed as they are in the UK so I can pick up a château bottled french wine for about four quid. There's a Spanish supermarket chain opening shops here and some of their wines are around three quid and not at all bad.

While we're talking about wine, gas anyone got any suggestions for dessert wine? Monbazillac, Sauternes or possibly Tokai crossed with my short arm deep pockets tendencies.

Mrs GM ordered a mixed case of Virgin wines which was a special offer in the 'i'newspaper. When it arrived 2 days later than they said it would do, it was a case of all reds. After one of her glad I'm not on the receiving end phone calls, they agreed to send her a couple of complimentary bottles of white.
As AndyRM said, they're average, and worth it just for the 2 free champagne flutes.
