And if the daft name and put-on accent isnt enough, he clearly dyes his beard. Thats the sign of a bad 'un if ever there was.

Have you heard his mum! His accent is genuine!
He’s also been dying his hair & beard for years, he’s naturally ginger.

To be fair, he was born in Stepney, grew up in Essex, went to school in Upminster. He's camp Essex to be fair

He went to Coopers Company and Coburn school in Upminster, a school that only the highest achievers gain entry to. Any heavy cockney accent would have disappeared during his time there, not that I believe he ever had one like that. I spent forty years in east London and Essex, I can tell a genuine accent from one that's clearly put on.

I test drove a Suzuki Jimny van from Cinch. It was more exploratory to see if I like the vehicle. I didn't buy the vehicle(obviously), and wouldn't, it was showing signs of being stood for months with mould spots in the rear loading area.

we've just heard back from Cinch with an update on our car. it needs a new clutch and flywheel, so the parts are arriving on Tuesday and the Audi garage will try and do the job same day. They've probably lost a bit on their profit margin but they'd have to do the work anyway to resell it

Now they know why the previous owner wanted shot of it.

Mrs D onde found a Facebook page for people who had traded on cars with faults, many quite serious, who had then found them for sale at a dealer elsewhere and to earn prospective purchasers. Some examples were quite frightening.

Just thought I'd update this for completeness. Last week we reported a funny noise with the car (after having it for 7 days), and they booked it in to the Audi garage. We have picked it up today, and they've fitted a new clutch, flywheel and bearing under warranty. They would have done it sooner but has to wait a few days for parts. We also pointed out that a USB charging point in the arm rest did not work, which they forgot to do, but Cinch have also approved them to do the work so we've got to take it back on Monday and they will fix it whilst we wait.

So, a £1500 (at least) job done under warranty with no quibbles, we're pleased so far with the service.

To be fair, it wasn't making a noise in the first few days we were driving it. And it also didn't make the noise when we put it in the garage, but luckily I had taken a video. So it might not have been apparent when it was bought/supplied to us, as the clutch still worked fine and there were no EMLs on

Another update - after the new clutch and flywheel, we took it in this morning for them to fix the USB outlet in the arm rest. Having done that, they identified that the pollen filter and brake fluid had not been changed at the proper interval. So they are also doing that. Cinch approved the work immediately. The Audi main dealers are probably rubbing their hands together, as they know Cinch are paying for all this work, but in fairness to their "anything bar consumables" warranty, they've certainly lived up to their claim.

This is the last update, as everyone is probably getting bored now. We've got the car back after having brake fluid and cabin filter changed, and they also picked up that the wheel alignment was out. So it's again been approved to go back in to have this done. I've read so many horror stories about people buying cars from dealerships who completely ignore any faults etc, so I would thoroughly recommend buying through Cinch if you want peace (piece?) of mind.

It's also worth noting that the Audi garage have tripped over themselves to try and help us out...as they're being reimbursed by Cinch and probably want us to be repeat customers once our 90 day warranty is up. Sadly we won't be booking it in there for what I assume is a very expensive rate for servicing. They don't quote their proces online so I'm guessing it's a "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it" scenario!

If you DIY service you know it's been done. Lots of garages apparently replace oil with the correct grade of oil eg 0-40 , but the spec may not be the one the manufacturer recommends. This can be a bit of a minefield, with specs for different manufacturers that may not amount to anything eg the manufacturers name on the can, but may be important, e.g., a difference in detergent quality. I always ensure I buy the oil processed by a major manufacturer. I can understand why garages do this, as it would be difficult to keep 100L of one spec for each grade of oil, but the outcome may never be known. If they claim they've bought in 5L of the specific oil for your car, and only used 3 (but charged you for 5) you are due the other 2L for top-up
When we had a Fiat we had the Fiat Dealer do the first service (under threat of losing the warranty), and they charged for 4L of oil (the service book stated 2.6L oil and filter). When I checked the dipstick (wiped and re-inserted) it was about 1.5 inches above the max. I queried this with them and they said "that'll be alright we put 4L in every engine!". My response was "Ok, who's going to give a written statement that in the event of engine damage through oil seals blowing or similar, they'll fit a new engine?" The car went back in, and they drained a lot off, then said "If you're going by one bay we'll give the car a free wash" Not likely, thought I, they'll ruin the paintwork!
