Cinema , expensive !

I don't go to the Cinema any more. It's an eating house. I can't enjoy a film with people troughing around me, it is distracting.

I would not dream of sitting down in the house with a bottle of pop and bag of sweets and spend an hour and a half eating them. I just don't get it.

I've not been to the Hyde Park Picture House in over thirty years....

I'll have to remedy that state of affairs.

I live within walking distance of the Cottage Road cinema and once again have not visited since my student days.
I used to have a GF that lived in Leeds. We used to go in the Hyde Park Picture House. That must have been about 1979 - 1985. I thought it was a nice place.
The best one I remember was the Hulme Aaben, the seats were arranged in 2's. They sold beer and coffee that you could take in. This was before it was common place. They did special nights showing films like Casablanca/the Maltese falcon..

Yes, you will! Only £4.50 with your Leeds Card. (Silver Linings Playbook on tomorrow, gets 8.0 on IMDb.)

I don't understand this business of constant eating and drinking at the cinema. Why don't people have something before they set off?

£8 for adults £6 for kids at our one. We usually take a pick and mix or bag of sweets from Tesco, We never buy from the kiosks and as even the smell of popcorn makes me heave I never even pass near it.

I must admit though I usually take a flask of tea with me, it'll be a pair of slippers and my dressing gown next.
