Any good sites for breaks overseas , I quite fancy Poland and iv heard its pretty cheap ,but any sites iv went on ( Travelocity/last min.com)it's been a fortune , ideally a package I'm after so I don't need to book seperatly

hostelworld.com it's aimed more at the back-packing student end of the travel market, but you can often get single or double rooms, most european hostels are mixed rooms so if you're traveling with someone and not fussed about sharing a room with other people but want to be together then you should be fine.

The wife and I booked through hostel world when we went to Poland, stayed in Warsaw for a weekend, which we felt was enough to see the old city, then went down to Krakow where we stayed for a week.
if you wanted to see Austwitz, don't bother with the organised trips, you can just get a bus there, buy tickets at the gate and join a tour - take food and water.

Would recommend getting the lonely planet guide to Poland, very useful for city plans and lists of places to eat etc.

Amsterdam is a real contender however I think Poland is more to see , going to auswitch is a big draw

Genoa (just north of Barcelona) is a charming city (and reachable cheaply, but unfortunately, with Ryanair).

Valencia and Grenada are also very well worth a visit.

Bergen (in western Norway) is a pleasant place to visit.

Amsterdam is brilliant.

Reykjavik (so I've been told) is a great city to experience.

Sorry, no help at all with regard to accommodation, but if you wanted a pointer for a destination...

Hamburg... (and forget the Reeperbahn crap)
I would also say Berlin.
Both great Cities to visit for a short break.
