Inspector Aspinall stressed that any collision in which a motor vehicle causes damage to property or injury to a person is a police matter and that cyclists should not hesitate to call the police to the scene of all but the most innocuous of incidents, even if it isn’t clear what happened or who - if anyone - was to blame.

Laughable.

I'm sitting here seriously injured after a hit and run and the Police are not bothered.

City Police and TFL were also calling for a change to the law on ASLs that would allow cyclists to enter ASLs in any way they choose. As things stand, if a cyclist enters an ASL other than via a feeder lane on the left, they are officially breaking the law.

My question is: is filtering allowed? if there is no cycle lane but space to cycle down stationary traffic is filtering allowed? if it is then I guess once you filter down and there is an ASL you are not allowed to enter it?

Without a feeder lane you're not supposed to go past the first stop line (as you approach the ASL, which is actually called the second stop line).

so its legal to filter down to an ASL but you can't enter it?

Yep, that is my understanding, but things are not clear. If you did filter to the front but chose not to enter the reservoir you will likely be to the left of the vehicle at the lights - hardly ideal.

Yep, but I think legislators are about to sort this sillyness out.

I have seen ASLs with "feeder" lanes that are only inches long and wide, presumably to make them legally accessible.

Its about calling his bluff publically

As he was talking about the COLP and said the Met response may well be different, you would be calling the bluff of the wrong person. If it is being poorly handled PC "What Hit & Run?" and PC "Can't be bothered" it would be far more worthwhile to contact a senior officer who has jurisdiction.
