Wow! Lots of replies there, thanks.
WOW!! So many replies - thanks
Maybe I misrepresented my position; I am not totally uninitiated in classical music - Dad's a church organist and I have sung in various choirs.
Anyway, sincere thanks to all of you. It just shows there's nowt queerer than folk - there is no accounting for taste. So looking at the replies I managed to look into so far:
- Night Train: thanks, that's two bickering tenors if ever I heard them, thanks for suggesting Mozart or Bach. - Mozart's Requiem has always been a favourite
- RT - Faure's Requiem is another I've always liked
- Aperitif - I am not a fan of orchestras because I find it hard to hear above the noise
- Vernon - Orff's Carmina Burana counts as pop music really but I have always liked it.
- Cubist - now then, that I do like I'll be looking out for some more like that on Spotify
- Ianruk - nowt wrong with Tchaikovsky per se but doesn't do it for me
- User13710 - am liking that, thanks!
- Chilly - Verdi's Requiem's cool and Zadok, well that's more pop music (always liked it)
- SRW - no thanks to the choral evensong, I was made to take part in more of them as a kid/teenager than is good for anyone
- Ian Turner - take back what I said about orchestras. I need to listen to that again.
I'll be sure to look at the rest in the next week or so, so thanks again
