Will add... My skinny road back tyre lost grip on metal man hole covers, a couple of times.

Nothing dangerous, but a bit of a surprise.

Well known to anyone who has ridden a while.

If my bike is too bad
and that includes mud under the mudguards

then I hose it down

then I have found that a leaf blower is pretty good for getting all the drops of water off it
they just blow off the same way those Dyson (other makes are available - some better) hand dryers in the loos work

especially good if I got back and am cold and wet and just want to get in and get dry and have a cuppa

Your bike has the carbon footprint of a small town

If a basic garden hose not a power washer is washing out the grease in the bearings. Then a wet ride is likely to do the same.

Some attachments make a regular hose more like a jet wash, if I do use a hose on motorbikes or bikes I use the rose attachment so it's gentle
