Lovely day today, almost spring-like. No work, wife at home. Great day for a ride.
I went out and put some miles in, fantastic!
I know, on the way home I will go the long way round via Leeds and check out the floods. You have to be in awe of the power of the water and the destruction it wreaks. I am down the old waterfront crawling along in granny gear when I spot a flooded underground car park. Amazing, it looked post-apocalyptic. Almost movie set. I'll get a picture.
Brakes, turn right, shoot! BANG! ARGH! shoot!
I had forgotten I was on cobbles. Front wheel stuck between two cobbles and I could not get my feet out fast enough. Phone flew out of my jersey pocket, hits the floor, but survives intact. Sore knee, scraped top tube and pedal but everything except my pride ok. Quickly looked round, street deserted and nobody clocked me.
First time for everything I guess...."twonks and cleats"
