clicking noise on new wheels

i've just bought a new pair of mavic aksiums. ive just taken them out of the box and spun them whilst holding them. the rear wheel is making a clicking noise whilst spinning round. Is this normal???

I believe so yes. Some cassette are silent others click

i havent put the cassette on it yet. i'm not sure if its a spoke tension thing as the noise sounds like its from the spokes.

Are you talking about the freehub body where the cassette fit's onto.
The cassette won't make any noise. The freehub body will (some louder then others)

Doh!!!!! Where is my brain today? That is what I meant

lol. it is the free hub thats making the noise and vibrates through the spokes. guessing this is normal then
