Hi,

I can probably check this the next time I'm in the bike shop, but just thought I'd ask...

I have a back rack on the bike for my panniers:

And I'm just wondering - is is possible to fit a rear clip-on mudguard to that it fits just under the frame of the rack?
This is the one that I was looking at, but I'm not fussy, and it's obviously dependant on width etc.

Like I say, I can have a look next time I'm in, but thought I'd see if one precludes the other, or whether it's a fairly common combo.

I like the clean look of no mudguards, hence I'd only want to put one on when I really needed it, rather than fitting a (semi) permanent one.

Thanks!

You might struggle to fit that under the rack. Look at Flinger clip ons or SKS velo 55 cross/mtb clip-ons from Evans
I use Flinger Clipon Guards under a rack on my Tourer/hybrid/ flatbar

I bought a cheap cheap set from Decathlon and then butchered it to fit the underside of the rack. That way my hybrid only has a guard when the rack is attached

Still part of the team !
I've got one of these on my latest bike:- http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/xtreme-mud-jack-race-rear-mudguard/aid:143263

It needed a fair amount of butchering fettling to get it to fit but the bike doesn't have rim brakes and there was no handy hole to put the bolt through.
I used a hacksaw, drill, pliers and a precision hammer to get it to fit.
I'm very pleased with the results; looks and effectiveness.

In the pictures, the bike doesn't have a rack fitted although it does now and the guard goes underneath it.
I like how easy it is to fit and remove and there's barely a trace of it when it's not in place.
It's not as effective as a full mud-guard but it keeps my back clean.

The piece in front of the wheel is part of a Crud Catcher Road Racer.
The tyres are 28mm.
