Hope it doesn't rise more - that's uncomfortably close.

A few roads closed round here at the moment, mainly ones that skirt the coast such as the B5300 between Maryport and Silloth (on Hadrians Cycleway)

Also have rail problems with the line having been damaged by the sea between Workington and Carlisle (which will affect C2Cers as the train is replaced by a bus along this part of the line), unlikely to re-open for a couple weeks.

Finally the NCN72 past Sellafield is damaged (the bit along the sand dunes on the HCW). Sustrans were assessing it on Monday but I don't know what the state of it is at the moment.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
The Thames is basically one large flood defence - there are weirs and floodplains along its whole length which are generally managed to avoid flooding homes as much as possible. It doesn't always work, of course, but flooding at Runnymede may well have been a deliberate ploy to avoid flooding in Staines or Richmond.
