I was shocked to hear that this store had closed, I’d used them for several years.

Does anyone here have any knowledge of if and when it may reopen?

The good news is that it was announced yesterday that they'd been sold to Giant

It was a Specialized store. The one in Norwich was by Hall Road Asda. Giant had a store just down the hill but the Revolution store has better access and passing trade.

They actually had several stores around East Anglia, and I think most of them sold a variety of makes - my bike from them was a Cube (I think it came from the Ipswich store).

A similar sort of thing round here with Tredz. They have three stores in South Wales, two of which are general, the third is specifically a Giant store.

Here is a copy + paste of the email that I received on Monday 21 April as I have been a customer of Thomas’ Cycle Revolution and therefore on their database.

Looks good but I’m still waiting for a return call from the contact us page.

Made the mistake of buying a bike from my local one in colchester years ago. Snooty and disinterested, probs as I was buying a bog standard hybrid on sale. Went again once more to buy a few bits and bobs, same attitude. Not been since and that was over 10 years ago. Since then spoken to many a person who felt the same after going there.

yes had similar experience in their Ipswich store many years back, I was visiting a friend who lived locally, we found we needed some urgent replacement parts like that day before we had wanted to do a big ride, might have been a sportive, the next, else Id have just ordered from Wiggle, and Ive never been treated with such disdain, snobbery, total disinterest, disrespect & just downright rudeness in a store where Im actually trying to give them money to buy stuff from, infact I think made that exact point of I am the customer trying to give you money in this relationship here, treat me with more respect.

I certainly vowed never to deal with them again and I dont think my friend ever went there again, and we certainly heard other people had similar experiences, I wasnt surprised they struggled to sell stuff with their attitude, I was more surprised it took that long to come to a head.

Speak as you find. I have used Cycle Revolution ( Colchester) on two occasions and they have been polite and very helpful. I also know a fellow cyclist who purchased his Cube bike from the Ipswich store and as he was a “high miler” he was in that branch regularly and always said how helpful they were in there.
Perhaps one’s viewpoint on Cycle Revolution is rather similar to that of Wetherspoons. Some people love ‘Spoons whilst other folk would never cross their threshold.
