I was almost ran over last night while out for a run, by some chump who thinks taking blind corners at warp 9 was acceptable. I didn't imagine how close I came to being deceased, until another motorist stopped to ask if I was ok.

Wrenched my knee leaping (no exaggeration) out of the way, so we've a technical non-stop RTC with one witness of impeccable character, and another witness with no connection to the other.

I phoned it in, and was called back by another bobby I know well. Won't go into any further detail, but I'm thoroughly looking forward to seeing this chump in Court.

I was run over, in 2011. By a motorist who thought warp factor 9 on a dark night turning onto one side road from another each with parked cars on both sides leaving effectively a single track was acceptable. I was a pedestrian already halfway across the road he turned into. I wasn't killed. I did bounce my bonce off his windscreen. I did break my pelvis. It didn't make the news. After 4 years I did get compensation, it was about 1/1000th of what a celeb gets for having their mobile phone hacked.

It was a pick up truck. While I didn't get the reg - I was too busy not dying - I know which house it lives at as I've seen it many times.

Knees a bit uncomfortable, worst when I'm trying to stand or lower myself down, hopefully all will be well in a few days. Not interested in compo, just want this idiot taken to task.

The job meets the 'threshold test'. The aggrieved (me) is a retired police officer of impeccable character with nothing to gain by making a false report, so alone that would probably be sufficient to let a Magistrate decide. Chuck in a witness with no connection to me, and thus no question over bias and impartiality, and it's a dead cert for Court.

The - fortunately minor - injury is of little consequence to me. I just want a dangerous idiot hammered before he kills someone. It's just luck that my death ninja training and lightning reactions saved me. Had I not been so alert, or not in a position to fling myself aside (such as on a horse or bicycle) i'd be typing this thread via a Ouija board.

I'd like to see him screwed for careless, but i'd be happy with fail to stop injury rtc.

I wouldn't mind so much, but I spent 5 months rehabilitating my right knee following being bowled over by the dog back in February. Patiently went through the rest, physio, and then building jnto a gruelling exercise regime (hence the running) and I hope I'm not back to square one. It doesn't feel too bad, so I'm hoping it's just a minor tweak.

Couldn't get in the Doctors today. 8am, first day of the new week, all the junkies are clogging up the phone trying to get their methadone, so i'll try for an appointment tomorrow.

Exactly, no action against the driver who put me in hospital and off work for three months, despite the outcome for me passing the published threshold level for prosecution by Leicestershire Constabulary.
