@Drago, seriously, how much of a factor with your former colleagues is it that you are not just a witness of good character but a retired copper? Do you think a doctor or teacher would get the same outcome?

Blimey, that's a can of worms I wasn't working towards.

A doctor or teacher or equally exemplary character would theoretically be in the same position when it comes to determining whether the threshold test is met or not. Things start to work in my favour if it starts to unravel, say if the bobby that's coming tonight tries to bat it off - I know the system probably better than they do, so they can't cuff it away or try to do half a job.

I was almost ran over last night while out for a run, by some chump who thinks taking blind corners at warp 9 was acceptable. I didn't imagine how close I came to being deceased, until another motorist stopped to ask if I was ok.

Wrenched my knee leaping (no exaggeration) out of the way, so we've a technical non-stop RTC with one witness of impeccable character, and another witness with no connection to the other.

I phoned it in, and was called back by another bobby I know well. Won't go into any further detail, but I'm thoroughly looking forward to seeing this chump in Court.
Glad it wasn't worse.

One question though, what if the driver presents a witness to say that they were playing ppker all night. How will you prove that the pickup was that pickup.

I wouldn't mind so much, but I spent 5 months rehabilitating my right knee following being bowled over by the dog back in February. Patiently went through the rest, physio, and then building jnto a gruelling exercise regime (hence the running) and I hope I'm not back to square one. It doesn't feel too bad, so I'm hoping it's just a minor tweak.

Couldn't get in the Doctors today. 8am, first day of the new week, all the junkies are clogging up the phone trying to get their methadone, so i'll try for an appointment tomorrow.
I hope you got the dogged lock up in slammer for a few months:smile:

I can describe some damage down one side, and a very distinctive sticker in a particular location... not to mention I saw the startled look on the drivers face as he came close to mowing me down. I'd be happy to stand in court and point at the driver and identify the vehicle.

I hope, through your connections, and professional knowledge, you get to point that finger.

An ordinary Joe would likely not ever get the chance.

I feel like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!
Good that it wasnt more serious. Hope you get a result, I know it shouldnt work like that but you probably have a better chance than most people.

For us to believe you were close to death you need to post a picture of someone else's broken leg all mangled up on the floor
