Motorbike brakes had crossed my mind although weight/cost & who would fit it for me was why thought I'd ask the cycle shop who are fitting me a new hub & sprockets on the 3 wheeled German slugger. They said they'll get a build set up to see how they go & are giving me a price. This will be both rear brakes operated on one foot lever. I hope this does do the job if not motorbike brakes maybe the only route to take. Hopefully reducing my trikes weight by replacing my front wheel with one without a built in motor on which I have spare & take off the big battery behind my seat will improve performance all round.

You could try looking at Hope http://www.hopetech.com/ from what I've heard they provide some good brakes (used by Guy Martin in his down hill "go kart" speed record attempt).
Thanks for that flatflr that's really good to have some specialist cheers :okay:

Is there a limit to the number of rotors you could brake from on the rear? I'm thinking that if you don't get quite the performance with braking that you could add another rotor for better stopping. I'm not sure how that would work with Hydraulics, but I'd think that it would be possible to do if you already have two at the rear.
