I didn't know that! I just put in cloves and the oranges separately. So you are meant to bake the orange first?

My Mum used to cook cloves into her apple pies. Put me off apple pie for decades. In fact, it's only been this year that I've eaten apple pies (cloveless ones)

Love cloves. My favourite toothpaste is based on Clove oil. A bit old fashioned but I prefer it to minty Freshness .... and still in a metal tube too!
