Zoiders. I am trying to be polite here.I only seem to have no opinion as others stated what I would have written myself. You on the other hand see to play devils advocate on every possible occasion and then get upset when others disagree. As for being a bed wetter you could not be further from the truth. Aggressive assertions in words be not have to equate to violent motivations. Rather they are a wall to hide behind when you run out of anything interesting to say.

No it's just you.

You don't have an opinion or any ideas on the subject you are just jumping in on the side that you think will win an argument as a way of having a go.

You also seem to be forgetting that I wasn't the bloke in the van - and if I am being "aggressive" then you must be the worlds biggest bed wetter if you fear some violent motivation behind posts on a cycling forum.

Have a read of the Sexual Offences Act 2003

I think that you'll find that it isn't unless you adopt a very liberal interpretation of the law.
Try this bit from your link -

"The exact nature of the sexual activity involved will be a key factor in assessing the seriousness of the offence e.g. on the upper end of the scale, using one's naked genital organs to stroke, rub, press or touch the naked genital organs of another to at the lower end of the scale of patting someone on the bottom through clothing."

I have plenty to say on the subject of the thread.

You on the other hand only have things to say about other posters, as usual.

And that in itself is open to a range of interpretations.

Thanks for taking the time to pin point a glimmer of hope for your aspirations to see a sexual assault charge being levelled against the assailant.

Ignoring Zoiders - I agree that this was a sexual assault (as defined by the Sexual Offences Act 2003) as Smokin Joe has kindly pointed out. Whether or not the Police and the CPS would proceed with such a case in another matter. In an ideal world he should have the book thrown at him but the public interest has to be served and I'm not sure whether or not it would be. I could see an assault charge going ahead and passenger maybe getting a community service order. Very wrong but such is the society we live in that those who perpetrate crime hide behind laws designed to protect the innocent.

Intent, motivation and gratification decide if it's a sexual assault.

Definitions of crime and the PACE act apply, not politically motivated witch hunts.

I am confused as to why anyone would think political motivations are at work here? When presented with a set of facts or information proporting to be fact people will analyse said information / facts and reach a conclusion. I do not for one minute believe that political beliefs come into the equation.

Oh gawd blimey! Where did that lot come from?

The police made no mention of sexual assault. The blokes acted like complete tossers with no consideration of the possible consequences (i.e someone ending up under the wheels of the van) but I wouldn't want them hung, drawn & quartered.

If the guy doing the slapping gets a caution for common assault and the driver gets a juicy fine and some points (assuming no previous) I'd say that was fair enough.

I should think slapping a female stranger on the bottom is a clear indication that the assault had a sexual motive. There was plenty else to aim at.

Whether or not the assault was sexual it would do us all a favour if it was prosecuted as such for the publicity it would generate. This sort of thing is becoming increasingly common and if hanging some peanut out to dry sends a message to others of the same mind that the consequences of what they do will haunt them for a long time so much the better.

No Dave!

Don't you see!

He must be placed on the nonce register and have his life ruined for ever!

His children taken into care!

Forever banned from coaching his sons five a side team lest he peadocrime them.

The mob demands it.

As a woman, I would feel violated if some stranger 'patted' or 'slapped' my backside.

I would not feel violated if they slapped my face - and presumably as they would be in front of me, I would be able to slap them back.
