Not exactly looking forward to the bad weather but as prepared as I can be. No other way for me to get to work so Will endure. Bitterly cold tonight leggings and long cycling tights on for commute tonight and only felt warm enough. We'll see. Goodluck to all for the coming weekend. Stay safe. Gez

Snow is the last thing I want, I'm supposed to be riding the Cotswold Reliability Trial on Sunday, if it snows it will get called off.

That was nearly my limit on the legs (with the decathlon longs) - if it had done -10 then the waterproof leggings would have been on. Just so dry, and not so much ice frost. Took the spike bike for the grip, but it was fine.

My skin around my eyes is suffering big style. Using loads of moisturiser crap and anti inflammatory cream

I flew round a corner, a little too fast, the front end went on frozen mud, I got lucky as the back went too and it countered itself

I'll slow down today, looks even colder though

Don't worry it's warming up a bit now, should be up to -1 by the time I venture out :cold:

I'm back out in it at 11am - half day as I've got my CBT training course. Might just have warmed my kit up by then on the radiator. Friggin back brake froze again. Deffo strip the cable this weekend.

I find a shot of GT85 or WD-40 into the cable housing after a ride keeps the brakes from freezing overnight.

Found the problem - cruddy cable !
Yup i went to the LBS for a new cable + outer for the rear brake as i can see where my rear brake gets stuck every time it gets sub zero .

Got some new tyres for my old MTB so tried it out on the commute today. It is an original 1986 Raleigh Maverick! It weighs a ton and was dog slow, but oddly comfy. It got me here okay and I reckon will get through most weathers. I am not using it unless the weather turns bad, but I am ready if it does!
