Do we have any coffee experts kicking about in here?

Wondering if a moka pot is a good gift for a coffee lover? Also looking at grinders and leaning towards bodum's electric one... thoughts?

What about a bean to cup machine? Or is it outside your price range? Otherwise an electric grinder and cafetiere would be good.

It's for someone who already has a good Nespresso machine. I'm just looking for something other than the pod/machine option, and smaller as it could be used for travelling too.

Without breaking the bank, get a stove top pot. Best product I've ever bought for coffee, after reading a few glowing reviews from here. Dead simple, brews in 5 minutes, easy to vary strength, and usually enough for two cups of coffee. Ideal for the morning !

So, a moka pot then? Or are there different types of stove top pots?

Same thing then. Wasn't sure. Picked ours up in Ikea. Love it. Makes fabulous coffee. I'd always thought they looked fiddly, but having got one, it's worth it. We've got a standard filter coffee machine that never gets a look in now.

This, or whatever size variant thereof would suit your friend. Accept no substitutes. Makes impeccable coffe, and the wee feller on the side puts a spring in your step:

Or, for the novelty value, since it is a gift (but also very functional), a coffee syphon?

Or even, go simple, Aeropress?
