My car's been playing up. According to the Green Flag man one of the coil packs has gone, He says it'll cost about 50 quid for a new one or about 10 quid for one from the scrapyard. He also said it's a fairly easy job to replace them, but i've tried to unscrew one of them and it wasn't for shifting. The question is are they easy to replace and will one from the scrapyard be any good? Replies asap will be appreciated as no car means no work:sad:, Thanks in advance for any good advice! :okay:

They are very easy to fit .. I would go for new unless you need a quick fix and you have a scrap yard near by

It's probably the same as on my Micra, there's just one 10mm bolt (with a cross-head top) holding it down. If yours won't shift then just spray it with WD40 and leave it for a while.

Your taking a chance with one from a scrapyard - new ones on ebay start at around £20 (inc p&p). You could probably get one for about the same from a non-franchise dealer.

I might order one from e bay. Trouble is the time it'll take to get here. What i save in cost will be outweighed if i lose another day's pay. Maybe one from Blackburn Brakes would be better. Mind you they'll be top price and charge for "express delivery". Decisions decisions!

If I was getting one from a scrap yard I'd get one from a car that was visibly damaged, it was probably working at the time of the accident and probably still is.
