Ok when I saw the title and saw the last poster, I was sure armwarmers would be mentioned. You've let me down Potsy.
Sorry big fella, it's too cold for armwarmers up here, full on long sleeves now pal.
Done 2 nights of commuting home via a muddy offroad trail, the bike is looking a little dirty even by my standards

Dorset has been hot (for the time of year). Heating is struggling to come on, plenty of commuters still in shorts.

Today was weird.Nil wind this morning.....nil this afternoon and completely vertical rain, yet a weather system moving across from the SW. (but no SW winds).

Yes, it's that awkward time of the year. Set of in just fleecy lycra and be freezing for the first few miles, or bang on the jacket and come to a slow boil on the 2nd half of the commute. At least in a few more weeks we'll be in proper Winter and there'll only be the one choice. Yip di dee.

I just wear normal clothes and sweatshirt with a light cycling jacket this time of year when commuting to work. I work in an un-heated warehouse with the shutters open all day and it can be quite bitter sometimes. The cold does not bother me as I spent the last 25yrs outside in all weathers as a Landscape gardener/building maintenance person. Life is a lot drier now working under roof...........bring it on soon be spring.

You didn't look too cold at the bottom the the bredbury hill at all mate
Not in a windproof softshell (aldi special) and I am always in bib tights. Using a buff round my neck as it helps with my shoulder/nerve problems though, stops the neck muscles swelling as much.

Well they got it right, it was White over with frost this morning, felt cold this morning, but I was wrapped up. shows how mild it's been. When the temp drops to freezing you don't half feel it! This time last year I was regularly out in minus temps, I think it went down to minus 8, 10 at it's lowest last winter. Just goes to show what your body gets accustom to when your at regular low temps for longer durations. It's when the temp is up and down you tend to feel the cold more when it drops. Still gets some colour in your cheeks lol.

Regretted not sorting my back brake out, braking downhill on frost with just a front brake was a bit of a worry. Crunched across my first icy puddle of the year ^_^

Good to hear that you are back on your bike and enjoying the commute, even in the coldest conditions of the winter.

I'm missing it at the moment. In Turkey on business. If you want to see a country that really doesn't do cycling, then come here. There is no one below the age of 60 on a bike less than half that age round here.

I had to defrost my face when I got to work at 8 this morning. It was, apparently, 'feels like -1' in Fareham. I could really have done with my winter jacket however that was still drying off from the 32 miles in the rain on yesterday's commute.

Looks like I've chosen a good day for my first ever cycle commute tomorrow - 12.5 miles each way; dark but busy country roads and plenty of hills. Might as well jump in at the deep end.
Done it - was way too warm though, even in the frost. Too many layers.
